Being popular on TV is bound to spotlight all your affairs and business, as has been the case with controversial sports analyst Stephen A. Smith. He had to debunk a story about an alleged romantic relationship with host Molly Qerim while on an episode of First Take. 

The conversation was ignited by Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, who suggested that Mr. Smith and Qerim had married because they wore matching outfits. However, Smith dismissed Russo, although he admitted they both dressed attractively.

Stephen A. Smith showed remarkable maturity by not taking offense to the fake news; instead, he turned it in his favor as he ended up taking the story as a compliment. He also went on to talk about how he and Qerim contributed to the success of the show.

Qerim has been the primary host of ESPN’s First Take and has worked with Smith since 2015. She was once married to Jalen Rose, a former ESPN personality and NBA player, before getting divorced in 2021.

Jalen Rose, ex-husband to Molly Qerim, in an interview with GQ back in 2022, had publicly acknowledged the rumors between Stephen A. Smith and his former wife, where he shot down the rumors as false and said he had nothing to do with their divorce.

Rose was upset that people would think he ended things with Qerim because of Smith. He also said he had no ill feelings towards the two of them. 

The rumors have long existed, and if you see the chemistry between both hosts, you’d understand why people would assume they’re together. However, now that Stephen A. Smith has debunked it, hopefully, it can be laid to rest once and for all.
