As Samantha eagerly announced, “Today,” Smith answered college. Samantha had to point out that she’s a senior in high school. Before she could dive into the topic with an explanation, Smith cut in with a reference to how he’s with his daughter when it comes to dating.

He admitted that he’s like Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) of Bad Boys II, who would go to extraordinary lengths to vet and intimidate any boy who comes to his house to take his daughter on a date. He referenced the scene where Reggie (Dennis Greene) was thoroughly questioned by Marcus and Mike (Will Smith) when he was brought home by Marcus’ daughter, Megan (Bianca Bethune).

It was then that Samantha revealed she does date, and Stephen had to gasp and claim that he’ll deal with it later. In another section, she also revealed that she had a crush on Bryce James, the son of LeBron James, amid Smith’s beef with LeBron. The revelation came while answering a fan question about whether Smith hates LeBron.

As the dad-daughter duo had fun and made headlines, it also revealed a softer side of the analyst who comes in with punchlines and bold takes. In addition to Samantha, Smith also has another daughter, Nyla Smith. Nyla is a year younger than Samantha.
