Draymond Green stopped talking to Stephen A. Smith after comments about LeBron James' son

Since LeBron James confronted Stephen A. Smith at the Crypto.com Arena, the ESPN analyst has tried to calm the situation down. He was accepting that as a father, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was not wrong to ask media members to stay away from his son.

But at the same time, Smith has been adamant that whatever he said about Bronny James was not direct criticism. Rather, he has always asked others to give the 20-year-old time as it is a marathon and not a sprint. He has also pointed the finger at his father for piling the pressure on him.

Those words though, did not sit well with the 40-year-old father of three who decided to let his emotions loose during that Lakers-Knicks game. In the immediate aftermath, Stephen A. Smith seems to have lost some face as rumors are aplenty that many players are avoiding interviews with him due to this incident.

Some folks have been attacking me. Using this as an excuse to accuse me of hating on the brothers. I’m sick of that s**t. I’m not taking it from people anymore. I’m not just a black man, I’m a brother.

The 57-year-old analyst went on to say that some, such as Draymond Green, are using this confrontation as an excuse to label him as someone who ‘hates on brothers’. He then stated that considering the amount of information he has garnered over his 30 years as a journalist, he has not revealed any.

Along with his efforts to promote people from Black American community, there is enough proof he is not a hater. Rather, he reiterated that he was talking about LeBron James. It was the Lakers superstar who he had a problem about, not his son.

Stephen A. Smith believes confrontation was all about LeBron James

After the confrontation, Stephen A. Smith has been trying to keep the peace. But then, his eyes caught LeBron James’ conversation with Richard Jefferson. Listening and reading about that conversation led him to say this.

So, it wasn’t about Bronny. It was about him. Those are his words. Once he said, ‘As a father’, that was about him. Which was my point January 29th. It’s been about you.

A week before this confrontation, the ESPN analyst slammed the Los Angeles Lakers superstar for pointing the finger at the media for recent criticisms about ‘Face of the NBA’. The confrontation made it seem as if LeBron James was upset with Smith’s comments about his son.

But now the First Take host is sure that this was the four-time league MVP confronting him about his views. At the same time, using his son as a smokescreen to avoid the situation from blowing up. But now, Smith is the one taking exception and will likely continue talking about it.
