LeBron James is taking some heat from Stephen A. Smith for the way he was confronted publicly. That is despite many believing that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was right to slam the ESPN analyst for questioning his parenting.

Fans are supporting James and believe as a father, he did the right thing. But since that incident, Smith has been on a crusade against the 40-year-old superstar. The analyst believes James camouflaged his anger towards Smith’s criticism of him by bringing his son’s comments to the fore.

The 57-year-old has since spoken about the incident on many occasions, even calling the Lakers superstar weak. However, Stephen A. Smith does have a reputation of spinning the narrative. One such spin ended up crossing the line, which LaVar Ball did not appreciate. A resurfaced clip shows Ball saying.

I call Stephen A. Smith a $3 bill. Cause he faker than I don’t know what. People think I like him. I don’t like him. He talks crazy, but then say, ‘I like the father, I like the…’. No, you don’t. You talk bad about my sons, you talk bad about me. Don’t saying nothing crazy and then try to back paddle.

LaVar Ball said

LaVar Ball added that he got into a heated debate live on air quite a few times. But after the last episode of First Take, Ball was unwilling to return to the show. He revealed ESPN asked him to return, but he did not want to do anything with it.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce talks about media criticism

Other media members are backing up Stephen A. Smith as they feel LeBron James did not do right by him. But then there are others that believe the Los Angeles Lakers superstar went to the extent of confronting Smith only because his criticisms about his son went beyond basketball.

Some journalists for whatever reason, they’re critiquing Bronny on his play on the court. Alright. When you start stepping over that, it starts going to another area. You give off what you want to receive back.

Kevin Garnett said

Kevin Garnett said that media members do have a responsibility when they cover athletes. That responsibility means a certain level of dignity should be maintained. The Hall of Famer then added that maintaining the respect is crucial.

In between this, his KG Certified co-host and former teammate Paul Pierce added another anecdote. He feels the ‘name calling’ that some analysts resort to, has taken it too far. That is getting personal, and it hurts the players and the game as a whole.

LeBron James is quiet as Stephen A. Smith continues his tirade

Stephen A. Smith has not called anyone names. But he is on a run of his own where he is appearing on multiple platforms. Be it on ESPN, his own podcast, another podcast where the primary host is LeBron James’ friend, he has been everywhere.

He even went live on FOX News to call out LeBron James. Considering how FOX’s conservative audience feel about the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, the situation is only turning worse. However, in all of this, the father of three has kept quiet so far.

Considering he usually never confronts anyone in this manner, it is unknown if he will try to get back into the argument. As of now, Smith is only calling out James for that public confrontation. That might be ok with the all-time leading scorer. But if Smith’s slander again goes towards his family, he might not be quiet.
