Stephen A. Smith was hoping this was the season his New York Knicks would finally edge them all to win their first NBA title in over five decades. The team had the personnel to do it, and were playing with a drive that felt as if they wanted to prove everyone wrong.
Last season, they had a similar drive, but injuries to multiple players ended their stellar run. This season, though, they thankfully do not have major injury concerns, and head coach Tom Thibodeau has a full roster to bank upon.
In the second round series against the defending champion Boston Celtics, the Knicks used their drive to come back and win games. However, in the East Finals, Thibodeau’s decisions to play only a select few players and restrict minutes of second leading scorer, Karl-Anthony Towns, angered the ESPN analyst.
It felt as if the head coach was going to undo everything the Knicks did up until the second round. Those decisions played a hand in helping the Indiana Pacers take a 3-1 series lead, and passionate New Yorkers wanted a response.
The Knicks brought that response to full effect and won Game 5 by a score of 111-94. The final score does not fully disclose how driven the home team was, as they were up by nearly 30 points at one point of time in the third quarter.

After the game, Stephen A. Smith noticed that an X user by the name Rohit Thawani had paid a witch on Etsy to cast a spell that would help the New York Knicks win. He thanked Thawani for his efforts, suggesting the ESPN analyst was grateful that fans were doing everything possible to help the Knicks win.
Stephen A. Smith should hope Timothee Chalamet keeps bringing Kylie Jenner to Knicks games
Stephen A. Smith might hope this voodoo priest gets further funding to cast a spell for the New York Knicks to keep winning. If not, there is another alternative, as Barstool Sports found out. The Knicks usually have their most passionate fans cheering for them.

But it is the Hollywood contingent that brings that extra bit of passion. Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan are well known for their passionate fandom. Ben Stiller and Timothee Chalamet have also lent a hand, and even went on the road to cheer for their team at Game 4 in Indianapolis.
But in Game 5, Chalamet brought along his girlfriend, model Kylie Jenner. Barstool Sports’ Chicks in the Office podcast noted that when Jenner is at Madison Square Garden alongside her Dune star boyfriend, the Knicks win. Even though this Game 5 victory is only the second instance of a playoff win, a trend could be building.

If the New York Knicks are to cause a major upset and win the NBA title, Smith and passionate New Yorkers would probably want all the superstitions to help them. If that means pleading with The Kardashians‘ star to be at the Garden, Smith would love it.
Stephen A. Smith and fans hope Knicks travel to Indiana with their Game 5 energy
The New York Knicks led both the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals, but ended up losing after being unable to withstand the onslaught brought on by the Indiana Pacers. In Game 3, they took advantage of a lackluster performance from the Pacers at their home to win.
Then, in Game 4, that drive seemed to have exited the building, as the Knicks struggled to mount anything against the hot-handed Tyrese Haliburton and his teammates. But in tonight’s win, the Knicks proved that they can turn on the jets when needed.
They were particularly brilliant on defense, and the offense was clicking. If Stephen A. Smith and other New Yorkers want to be excited for a chance to challenge for the NBA title, they should hope that their team takes the same energy they displayed in this game to the possible next two.
