Stephen A. Smith has continued to headline ESPN’s First Take while continuing hosting his eponymous YouTube show outside the network’s banner. Per recent reports, the sports analyst has received a generous extension with the organization for the next 5 years. The news reached Saturday Night Live where Kenan Thompson jested the TV Personality.

To start off the show, Kenan Thompson impersonated his best Kendrick Perkins for the ‘Weekend’s Update’ segment. After a series of bizarre things, he brought up the $100 million ESPN deal with Stephen A Smith, expressing his wishes to get one himself. Speaking of his work, ‘Perkins’ claimed that Smith does nothing but report ramblings. To give a gist of such chatter, he made up news with juxtapositions at every corner.

Stephen A. Smith just got 100 million dollars to go on ESPN every day and talk nothing but nonsense, and I want a piece of that, too.

From claims of Larry Bird being a scientific creation to “71-year-old” LeBron James‘ work as an undercover spy, ‘Perkins’ covered it all. Before finishing it off, his co-host Michael Che reminded him of Charles Barkley‘s ridicule of him which led to another stint. However, Stephen A Smith’s deal is currently the talk of the town.

Notably, the extension amount is the highest ESPN has ever paid any employee, surpassing several big names in the organization. The deal offers Smith a whopping $20 million per year, which is a jump from his $12 million salary. The sports radio host has gained a fandom at the level of a celebrity himself. Recently, he was a guest on both The View and The Tonight Show.

Stephen A. Smith clears Presidential run speculations

Apart from the fresh deal, Stephen A. Smith is going viral for claims of his presidential run in 2028. The entire internet has been in a frenzy with speculations of the sports analyst switching fields to politics. In his appearance on The Today Show, he spoke with Jimmy Fallon about the chatter.

Primarily, he alleged the people were out of their minds to even bring forth the notion. Secondly, he understood the reasoning behind the conjectures being the absence of a Democratic voice. Lastly, being transparent on his stance, he convinced the audience that he had a peaceful life without the career flip and would like it that way.

However, the ESPN did not mind the talks, and in fact endorsed it. Surprisingly, some hypothetical polls added Stephen A Smith’s name that garnered roughly 2 percent support among those surveyed.
