Richard Jefferson trolls Stephen A. Smith for backtracking on Bronny James criticism amidst LeBron James controversy

Stephen A. Smith and LeBron James‘ confrontation was all about a father wanting the media to ease off on his son Bronny James. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar wanted Smith and others to stop or slow down on the narrative that was seemingly piling the pressure on the rookie.

James Sr. was particularly ticked off by the ESPN analyst’s plea towards him to stop making it more difficult for his son. The 40-year-old did say quite a few things that Smith felt was unnecessarily adding on to the discourse.

That led to the confrontation when the Lakers played the New York Knicks at the Crypto.com Arena. Since then, the 57-year-old has appeared on several platforms to berate the superstar. He believes James should not have confronted him publicly, and therefore, started calling him weak amongst other things.

After Bronny James delivered his best performance against the Milwaukee Bucks, he seemingly proved to all his doubters that he is capable of playing in the NBA. After this, Stephen A. Smith to say this on First Take.

I’ve always believed that this kid has the potential, once I watched him, to be in the NBA.

Stephen A. Smith said

As soon as clips of this take spread online, one of the first to react to this was Richard Jefferson. He posted a GIF of himself shaking his head in a man that depicts the phrase ‘really?’. His troll was perfectly timed considering Stephen A. Smith used his conversation with LeBron James to start his ‘weak’ narrative.

Former NFL star calls out Bronny James’ haters

Some of the biggest names on the block are Stephen A. Smith and Charles Barkley, who always maintained that the rookie was not NBA ready. Now since the tide has turned, former NFL star Emmanuel Acho took the opportunity to call the veteran critics out.

A lot of people, and you know who you are, owe Bronny James an apology. The mal intent that people have spoken about Bronny James, when Bronny James just did something and has already done something that you can never do. Bronny James does not look like the weak link.

Emmanuel Acho said

The host of The Facility on FS1 added that James Jr. was as good as 1st round rookie Dalton Knecht. Acho clarified that it was not a knock-on Knecht, but it also was a testament to how good the other rookie can be.

He also added that this performance was against a Milwaukee Bucks featuring almost all their starters. He put Giannis Antetokounmpo on skates and almost scored. Even without it, Acho believes Bronny James has done enough for him to now demand that apology.

Another ‘hater’ acknowledges James Jr.’s standout game

LeBron James has done a lot for basketball and the community. At the same time, there are many who do not like him for a variety of reasons. One of them happens to be Michelle Beadle, who admittedly is one of the Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s harshest critics. She said this while on the Run It Back show.

That was a good show, even for the haters. Heee heee.

Michelle Beadle said

She did not shy away from confirming with that sarcastic laugh that she was a hater. The longtime journalist has previously suggested that Bronny James’ entry into the NBA was ridiculously ‘manufactured’.

Now his seventeen points, five assist game seems to have given enough proof that he is no scrub. Looking at the schedule, James Jr. might not get a better chance to prove his worth. Fortunately for him, he grasped this opportunity with both hands.
