Stephen A. Smith’s presidential aspirations touted as possible reason for not stopping LeBron James discourse
Stephen A. Smith has been appearing on all platforms to call out Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

Stephen A. Smith could be using discourse with LeBron James for political ambitions
The entire discourse surrounding LeBron James and Stephen A. Smith has caught the attention of the entire nation. Their back-and-forth narratives are shaping up to turn ugly, and at the same time, destabilize the NBA.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar had started this narrative for two primary reasons. One was to call out the overtly negative criticism older media personnel such as Smith. The other was to confront Smith for questioning his ability as a father, and the negativity surrounding his son Bronny James.
First, Smith acknowledged that as a father, James was right to admonish him. But soon after, he noticed that fans were laughing at him after James seemingly being put him in his place. After that, he went on a run appearing on several platforms to label James’ confrontation as ‘weak’.
A few days after that, the four-time MVP went on The Pat McAfee Show and trolled Smith for not getting the point the Lakers star has been making. Now, Smith has gone on a tirade questioning James’ character bringing up Kobe Bryant‘s death to make his point. Seeing all this, Clutch Points Lakers insider Anthony Irwin caught on to something else.
If Stephen A. is actually considering a foray into politics/running for president, going after LeBron the way he has is a great way to ingratiate himself to one political party in particular

Irwin’s logic stems from the recent activities Stephen A. Smith has been up to. Ever since the elections ended, the ESPN analyst has been tearing into the Democrats. This and that FOX News appearance shows Irwin that Smith is trying to gain brownie points from right wingers who dislike LeBron James.
Stephen A. Smith claims he can win against all Democrats
Recently, Stephen A. Smith has been engaging in a lot of conversations surrounding politics. Since he cannot do it on ESPN, he does it on his podcast. Through that, he has managed to gain a lot of steam in his political views.
Some of those discussions have slammed the Democrats. Whereas others have questioned President Donald Trump and his Republicans. These centrist views came to the attention of former FOX News anchor and Trump supporter Megyn Kelly, who invited him on her show and asked if he was a running for President.
Do I believe that if I committed myself to knowing politics the way you and others know it, do I believe that I could win a Democratic nomination? Hell yes. Particularly the state of affairs that exist, I think it would be a cakewalk. I think I’d take them all out. I really, really believe that. I really think I could take them.
Stephen A. Smith said
“The Democratic party is a mess and they are devoid of leadership on a national level…”

Why @stephenasmith believes he'd easily win 2028 Democratic primary… but doesn't plan on running.

He did say that he is not knowledgeable enough to enter politics now. His recent contract extension also means he is fine with his life. But he did mention that if he does find interest in standing for a ticket, he will do so. Which essentially seems like he is keeping the door open.
How LeBron James is a factor in Smith gaining brownie points
Now there are two instances where Stephen A. Smith, a life-long Democrat supporter, went on to Republican affiliated platforms to speak his mind. He did not speak about the LeBron James incident with Megyn Kelly, but he has mentioned it before on FOX News.
FOX News’ audience are right wing Republicans, who do not hold a good view about the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. His comments about China, his past criticisms about Donald Trump and other things have led to some anger amongst them. Some right-wing athletes openly criticize James.
Some of them openly believe Michael Jordan is the GOAT, and James’ leftist views have had some impact in their opinion of him. It could be that the ESPN analyst knows all about this and went on to two MAGA centric platforms to earn brownie points with the Republicans.
