Stephen Curry on the NBA court is no short of achievements, adding another to his list. The Golden State Warriors star hit 25k points in his league career, reaching that milestone on Saturday against the Detroit Pistons. The star player’s wife Ayesha Curry and mother Sonya Curry were also there to cheer for him in the stands.
Stephen Curry became the 26th player in the NBA to hit the 25k record, which came at the Pistons expense in the third quarter of the 115-110 victory. Ayesha Curry and Sonya Curry, also present at the stadium, were spotted taking in the moment. In a clip recently circulating on the internet, the two seemed to be on an emotional rollercoaster due to the achievement. The recognition was met with a standing ovation from the entire audience.
Stephen Curry finished the game with 32 points, springing his total to 25,017. That said, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also highlighted the performance post-game, calling it his best. Notably, Curry also suffered with fatigue and a physical defense in said game. Nonetheless, Ayesha Curry and Sonya Curry still remain his biggest cheerleaders.

After playing 1011 games in his career, Stephen Curry will be closing in on another landmark. Before the match against Pistons, the 3-pointer leader was 11 pointers away from becoming the first player in NBA history to reach 4,000 career makes. Now Curry needs 7 points, and it remains to be seen if Ayesha and Sonya Curry will be present to witness it.
Ayesha Curry on the pressure of watching Stephen Curry play
While an NBA match is an interplay of several emotions, Ayesha Curry has faced all of it. In a recent interview with CNN, she opened up about the pressure of watching Stephen Curry play. She admitted feeling two contrasting emotions, having become a fan of Curry’s play herself.
While it becomes a trouble for her at times, Ayesha confessed to being thrilled to watch him. However, it wasn’t only because of her bias, considering she liked everything about him. At this point, watching Stephen Curry had become a routine for the Sweet July founder.
The sentiments were not hers alone, as they are also shared by her family members as well, revealed Ayesha Curry later. That being a surreal experience, the Warriors star‘s wife has fully embraced her role as an NBA WAG.
