The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is one of the best shooters that the sport of basketball has ever seen. Curry redefined the way the modern game is played, showing youngsters a new path to success with three-point shooting. But even a great player like the Golden State Warriors icon needs some motivation to fuel himself on days that do not go his way.
His sister and brother-in-law, Sydell Curry Lee, and her husband, Damion Lee, recently made an appearance on WNBA star Cameron Brink‘s podcast, Straight to Cam. On the podcast, the couple discussed various topics related to the NBA and WNBA, while also revealing some of Curry’s half-time tactics.
The Warriors player used to check his social media during halftime games to look for detractors on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), as the pair hilariously revealed. This is mostly because Lee played at the Warriors alongside Curry and revealed his former teammate’s habit.
He would type in his name on Twitter (now X) at halftime. And it would be like, ‘Oh, Stephen Curry this,’ whatever. And he’d look at it for probably like a minute or two and scroll. Close his phone, put it down, and then go crazy in the second half.
Damion Lee said on the Straight to Cam podcast
"I was next to him in the locker room. He would type his name on Twitter at halftime… He would look at it for probably a minute or two & scroll, close his phone. Put it down & go crazy in the 2nd half."

In addition, Curry’s sister, Sydell, also stated that fans used to purposely put hate remarks in regard to the former MVP, to which the star would get even more riled up and perform better. It was a tactic that was implemented by the fans, which certainly wasn’t a bad one. Game 6 of the 2019 Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Houston Rockets is a perfect example of this.
During this game, Curry went without scoring a single point in the first half, dropping a whooping 33 points in the second, clinching his side an important 118-113 win. Curry must have surely read some of the hate posts after the first half in the locker room.
As for his brother-in-law, Damion Lee, he has seen some great moments alongside Curry, one of the most vivid being him winning the 2022 NBA title alongside the Warriors superstar. Soon after, Lee left Golden State and joined the Phoenix Suns.
Warriors youngster Moses Moody shared a hilarious story about Stephen Curry during his rookie days
The Golden State Warriors’ youngster, Moses Moody, was drafted during the 2021 NBA Draft by his side. Ever since then, Moody has remained an important player for the Warriors, adding depth to the team. Notably, Moody, just like any other player, was interested and excited to meet and play alongside Curry for the first time.
But he also wanted to see what all the hype was about the Warriors superstar. On a recent podcast appearance on The Young Man and the Three podcast, Moody shared a hilarious story regarding finding out what Curry is all about.
One of my first times, I ripped him and I’m a rookie, I’m just coming in so I’m feeling good about it. And it’s like I just felt everybody in the room kind of like ‘Ohhhh, like he don’t know.’ And then Steph did what Steph do and go crazy and all that and I’m like, ‘Okay that feeling was right.’ I knew what I felt, everybody knew what was about to go down.

Moody also opened up on one of Curry’s trash-talking moments on the podcast, claiming that the Warriors star does not trash-talk loudly, but his words get into the players’ heads. This remains evident throughout his NBA career.
The Warriors youngster also claimed that Curry always tries to help his teammates while playing on the court when he’s talking. Moody asserted that the Warriors star genuinely cares for his teammates instead of putting and piling up pressure on them on and off the court.
Stephen Curry once claimed that his 7-year-old son, Cannon Curry, is ‘kind of an athlete’
As great as Stephen Curry and his 3-point shooting are, many have also wondered whether his Basketball genes will be passed on to his children. Also, the Warrior star clarified on this matter 2 years ago in an interview with Kelly and Mark. The NBA superstar claimed that his then-5-year-old son, Cannon, was showcasing signs of an athlete.
The five-year-old, we’ll see what he wants to be. He’s kind of the athlete, but I don’t know if it’s basketball, golf, baseball, whatever…
Stephen Curry told Kelly and Mark

At the age of seven, Canon frequently goes to Chase Center to watch his dad play. The basketball world may witness another generation of Curry players dominating the game. If not the Warriors superstar doesn’t mind his son choosing a different path as well.
