Everyone knows Stephen Curry is one of the best shooters in the NBA on the court. But nobody knew his off-the-court shooting skills, something that his wife, Ayesha Curry, touched upon lately on a recent podcast. She revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast about the Warriors superstar’s very first message back when they were strangers.

Not many would have predicted how the 4-time NBA champion approached Ayesha 17 years ago. Curry and Ayesha share one of the purest bonds of a husband and wife, having 4 children together. This all would not have been possible if Curry had not texted Ayesha in the first place. So what did the NBA star text?

The first message was, ‘I was in this music video,’ and he was like, ‘Hey, who is that in the music video in the picture that you’re in?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, it’s Yung Berg.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, I should’ve known, he always has all the sexy ladies.’ And I was like, ‘What is happening right now?’

Ayesha Curry revealed on the Call Her Daddy Podcast

The NBA community was surely left surprised after coming across Ayesha’s comments, because many did not think the sharpshooter had this in him. In addition, Ayesha revealed something more interesting. She claimed that she never wanted such kind of a life in the first place. Mrs. Curry was someone who wanted to fulfill her goals by studying and working (aspiring to be an actor) for herself.

But Steph’s one text changed the whole situation around her life. She also claimed that she never wanted kids and wanted to be independent before meeting the Warriors superstar. However, after coming into a serious relationship with Steph, Ayesha sacrificed everything and is at peace with her partner at this moment.

Even though his initial message to her was very unconventional, it seemed to have gone quite well. Steph and Ayesha were married in 2011 and had their first child in 2012. Since then, they have had 3 more, with her recent child (son), Caius, being born in 2024.

Ayesha Curry made a wholesome claim regarding her partner, Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry sliding into Ayesha Curry’s Facebook messages was not the only thing she revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast. The 36-year-old mother of four also spoke about many matters. But the one that caught attention was her wholesome message to Steph regarding her marriage and love for him.

She claimed that she did not want to get married early in her life. However, after coming across the NBA star, she just felt it was the right moment, and at the age of 22, the couple got married in 2011.

I just knew that I loved him. I’d never experienced anything else. I’d never felt any differently than, like, this is who I wanna spend the rest of my life with. And so we kinda just dove in.

Ayesha Curry said on the Call Her Daddy podcast

Steph and Ayesha have been together for 17 years now. The two who met at the age of 15 and 14 years old, respectively, in a church youth group in Charlotte, are now going strong with four kids and immense memories throughout these years.

Both have spoken admirably regarding the love they have for each other multiple times in different interviews in the past and present. Many fans always praise the bond of Curry and Ayesha whenever their social media posts come across.

Former ESPN analyst makes worrying Stephen Curry-Warriors NBA title claim

While Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry’s bond continues to grow stronger with each passing day, his main concern now is to win a 5th NBA title with the Golden State Warriors. Curry. The two-time MVP has also claimed that he hoped to win a 5th title before he calls it quits on a glorious NBA career.

Former ESPN analyst David Jacoby believes otherwise. As per Jacoby, the Warriors won’t be winning an NBA title anytime soon, sending a worrying message to Curry regarding his 5th NBA title.

I love the guys that stay at one place their entire career and feel like Steph is going to be one of those guys. And I think he will sacrifice his ability to win another championship or go to the finals to stay in a Warriors jersey for his career.

David Jacoby told The Ringer podcast

Jacoby feels that, unlike Steph, Kevin Durant has made the perfect choice to seek another title in the NBA before his career comes to an end. Steph’s decision to back down and choose loyalty over competitiveness may hamper him from getting another title in his career.

He pointed out Durant’s decision-making about joining the Houston Rockets this season as the perfect example of what Curry could have done differently this offseason. However, only time will tell how this matter unfolds in the coming year.
