Stephen Curry and Adam Pally in Mr. Throwback
NBA superstar Stephen Curry is all set to make his series debut with Peacock’s mockumentary series Mr. Throwback. This series marks his first-ever scripted role, which is set to be released on August 8. The comedy series follows Curry as he helps his down-on-his-luck 6th-grade teammate get redemption and get back to glory.
In the series, Adam Pally plays Danny Grossman, Curry’s middle school buddy. The trailer seemed promising, showcasing Curry’s comedic skills. The Peacock comedy was executive produced by Stephen Curry himself. Accompanying him were series creators and executive producers David Caspe, Matthew Libman, Daniel Libman, Erick Peyton, and Pally.
The Golden State Warriors megastar has been deep in the roads of Hollywood to become a playmaker. Stephen Curry and David Henrie are developing the basketball-focused comedy feature Trick Shot under their productions Unanimous Media and Cedar Hill. He also contributed to the Netflix series Good Times as an executive producer.
Sports Documentaries have always followed the perfect Plot Diagram. From Exposition and conflict to falling action and resolution. In the movie, Nwodim tells the mockumentary audience, “People love a redemption story. But you know what people love more? A trainwreck.” With a load of experience on his back, Stephen-Jack-of-all-trades-Curry has the potential to deliver.
