The craze for basketball in China is on a whole different level. Not so long ago, NBA stars James Harden and Jalen Williams were recently witnessing this as they were in China for their promotional brand event tours and marketing campaigns. Now, NBA superstar Stephen Curry witnessed this first-hand as he landed in China for his brand promotion.

Curry was taken away with the support and immense popularity he encountered in China. So much so that the Golden State Warriors star also took to his social media platform X to post about his grand entry in China. Notably, the Chinese fans continuously chanted the words MVP towards Curry as he ‘touched down’ in the Asian nation.

A few weeks ago, the Los Angeles Clippers’ James Harden was bombarded with supporters outside his hotel stay, showcasing their support for the former MVP. Harden was also crowded with hundreds of fans while on his promotional tour in a mall in Shenzhen, China.

Similarly, OKC Thunder star Jalen Williams also encountered this when he landed at the Chinese airport. Hundreds of fans surrounded him and showcased their support after the Thunder player’s sensational NBA season, capturing the 2025 title in the process.

However, when a four-time NBA champion steps foot in China, the impact is undeniable—sending shockwaves through an already passionate fanbase. Stephen Curry’s arrival (for his Curry Brand World Tour) isn’t just a visit; it’s a moment that echoes across the basketball world.

Per the 4-time NBA champion, he will attend an ‘interactive convention’ where the fans will be able to meet and greet Curry in person while on his tour in China. Notably, his brother, Seth Curry, will also be on this tour with him to promote Steph’s Under Armour shoe line while in China.

We’re taking Curry Camp to China; we’re doing something called ‘CurryCon,’ which is kind of wild to think about — an interactive experience based on my journey. I’m excited about it.

Stephen Curry told NBC Sports
