Many people have different takes on how a complete basketball player is supposed to be. Some believe that a basketball player should be strong and dominant while on the run towards the rim, while a few believe that the sport can also be played smartly and can be redefined differently.

That’s exactly what the likes of LeBron James and Chris Paul have done. So much so that Stephen Curry also agrees to this. The Warriors star made a recent appearance in an interview with Complex. He spoke about various issues and topics revolving around the NBA. But one that caught everyone’s attention was his take on the greatest basketball IQ podium, which was questioned by the host during the interview.

I think about uh, between CP and Bron, those two and it’s the way they play obviously, but the way they talk um the way they can kind of orchestrate an offense and control it…um so those two in my mind with the highest IQ and obviously Draymond would make a nice podium for me.”

Curry naming LeBron James and Chris Paul as the smartest players to play the game does not come as a surprise. The two stars, along with Draymond Green, have been huge catalysts in changing the way the game is played over the past decade. James and Paul led a pathway to the sport when it comes to basketball IQ.

He is unmatched in his ability to read defenses and make snap decisions. James frequently controls offensive tempo and defensive systems while playing like a coach on the court. ‘The King’ is renowned for observing the patterns of opponents, especially in late-game circumstances.

Paul, referred to as the ‘Point God,’ controls the clock, sets the pace, and takes advantage of games. Like a chess master, he is constantly conscious of the score, time, fouls, and matchups. Paul has unparalleled pick-and-roll manipulation skills. As a true leader and thinker, teammates rely on him to guide them both on and off the court.

As for Green, he is possibly his generation’s most intelligent defender. He predicts the plays of his opponents before they are made. Green also oversees the intricate switching defense of the Warriors. In addition, the Warrior is an outstanding offensive decision-maker and passer who frequently acts as a point forward.

Stephen Curry opened up on his bond with rapper Drake

Just over a year ago, during the 2024 Paris Olympics, Stephen Curry picked a side between Drake and Kendrick Lamar during their ongoing beef. The Warriors star picked the former because he has a brotherly bond with the Canadian rapper, and his feelings came into display during a practice session with Team USA when Curry was spotted displaying his annoyance towards hearing Lamar’s famous Not Like Us diss track towards Drake.

Now, after a year, Curry finally opened up on his bond with Drake in the interview with Complex.

We go way back, though, and it’s actually kind of a family thing, too. One of Ayesha’s cousins is from Toronto, and she’s from Toronto and the whole deal. So, we’re all in the same boat.

Although the specifics of Ayesha’s cousin’s connection to Drake are unknown, Steph has maintained a friendship with the rapper over the years, suggesting some sort of familial ties.

Stephen Curry got candid about his retirement from the NBA

One question any NBA fan doesn’t want to hear is the retirement of his or her favorite player, and when it comes to the likes of LeBron James and Stephen Curry, it gets even more serious. Similarly, about this, Curry recently opened up and got candid about his retirement from the NBA.

I’m kind of just taking it in two-year chunks. I just want to be in a position where I’ve put myself in a position where I can say I’ve done everything I can. I’m not nowhere close to that.
