Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is renowned for his prolific three-point shooting and is arguably considered the best shooter in NBA history. Over the last few years, Curry has carried the Warriors on his shoulders and has been a crucial part of their four championships. This year, he also played in his first Olympics, representing Team USA.

At the start of the Olympic tournament, Stephen Curry struggled with his shooting form. His performance in the group stage was slow, not reflecting the Curry we’ve seen dominate in the NBA over the years. However, in the semifinals, Curry silenced critics and doubters by delivering a 36-point performance against the Serbian team.

In the finals against France, Stephen Curry started off playing decently, with both teams exchanging blows. However, in the clutch moments of the game, as France was closing in on Team USA’s lead, Curry went berserk. He hit four dagger three-pointers in the final three minutes, securing Team USA’s victory and the gold medal. Afterwards French President Emmanuel Macron‘s reaction to Curry’s clutch threes went viral all-over social media. Macron’s reaction to the elite clutch performance was the reaction of most of the French fans as well.

Curry finally won his first gold medal in the Olympics, the only achievement that has eluded his illustrious career. The current USA team had one of the greatest runs in the Olympics history as they went undefeated throughout the tournament.

Stephen Curry already has a lot of achievements and records under his name. He has been in the NBA for 15 years and has won four championships. But Curry was never a part of Team USA in the Olympics. This year he got a chance to finally play in the tournament and win his first gold medal.

After a cerebral performance against France in the finals, Steph Curry opened up on winning his first Olympics gold medal. During the post-game interview, he stated how amazing of a journey it was for him playing in the Olympics and winning the gold medal.

For me to get a gold medal is insane, and I thank God for the opportunity to experience it, this ranks very high in terms of excitement and the sense of relief, getting to the finish line.

Curry had a great Olympics run and was the overall leading scorer for USA. Even after a slow start to the tournament, Curry managed to record 60 points in the last two games of the tournament.
