In Short
  • Stephen Curry's absence significantly impacts the Warriors' performance, leading to a recent 28-point loss to the Lakers.
  • Draymond Green expressed frustration with teammates during the game, which was captured in a viral video showing Curry's reaction.
  • Green refuted rumors of intentionally missing games when Curry is injured, stating Curry has missed more games than he has.

Without superstar Stephen Curry, it is difficult for Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors to have their best chance at winning basketball games.

Even though the point guard is about to turn 38, he is still considered one of the most lethal and consistent scorers in the league. Without him on that Warriors team, they lose their core identity and playing style.

Of course, his age and recent injury struggles should prompt the team to find alternative ways to win games. They do find ways to do so, especially as their impressive win against the Denver Nuggets proved.

At the same time, they could not do anything against the Los Angeles Lakers, who have been struggling themselves. That 28-point loss was embarrassing in front of their home fans, against a team that was searching for its identity after losing three straight.

Even Charles Barkley could not resist the opportunity to poke fun at the expense of the Warriors, knowing the likes of Green and his teammates simply could not get anything going.

It seems the latter’s frustrations with his teammates were evident when a clip surfaced showing the former Defensive Player of the Year crashing out on the sidelines.

Since crash outs from him are normal, the reason this video went viral was because of Curry’s reactions when Draymond Green was going at it with his teammates.

The clip, which was shot by fans, shows Stephen Curry constantly nodding his head while Draymond Green uses a variety of gestures to go off at his teammates.

Even head coach Steve Kerr, who has experience with Green’s episodes, stayed away during this incident, leaving fans to wonder why the three-point shooting record holder and his head coach reacted in this manner. Check out examples of those reactions below:

Draymond Green might have been having his best intentions when he was yelling at his teammates. After all, the rest of them needed to step up, as whenever Stephen Curry has been injured, the Warriors have lost most of their games.

Draymond Green debunks rumors of him intentionally missing games when Stephen Curry is injured

Stephen Curry has not played basketball in February and is likely to continue missing a few more games as he recovers from injury. During that stretch, the Warriors posted a 4-6 record.

Out of those four wins, two came against the Denver Nuggets and the Memphis Grizzlies. Fans pointed out that those wins came without Draymond Green in them.

They also claimed that the 6’6″ star intentionally misses games whenever Curry is injured, which led the Michigan native to say this on his namesake show.

People always try to come up with internet trends, but I think Steph Curry has missed far more games than I have… So, the theory just doesn’t kind of work. Cool story though… I think anytime you could throw salt on Draymond’s name, cool story for sure.

Draymond Green said

He believes people are pulling his name into such false narratives since it helps the creator’s business. At the same time, he reiterated with facts how his illustrious teammate has missed more games despite coming into the league a full three years before.
