Stephen Curry stuns Team USA Olympics teammates Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid holding falcon on his arm

Team USA has landed in Abu Dhabi to play their next two friendlies in preparation for the Olympics. The country is known for its elaborate welcoming shows, which are usually treats for those who visit. However, Stephen Curry topped it all in that welcome show, which stunned teammates Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid.

As they made their way through the corridor, the state-sponsored welcome show had one of their traditional song and dances going on. But a bit further down, a handler held a falcon on his arm. The national bird of the oil-rich nation was perched on top of a glove that the handler was wearing. Stephen Curry saw this and stopped to ask if he could hold it.

To this, the handler passed on the glove with the bird sitting on top. As the Golden State Warriors held the bird, teammates Joel Embiid and Kevin Durant looked stunned by his courage. After all, the bird is known for its aggressive nature and can injure a person if not handled properly.

Nevertheless, thanks to the handler, the bird did not know one of the greatest scorers in NBA history was holding it as it had a pair of blinders placed on its eyes. It is most likely a safety feature to avoid any unforeseen circumstances. Even then, holding that bird requires a fair bit of courage. A simple flap of its wings can frighten anyone. Curry, known for his unreal clutch performances, does not have that fear.

Stephen Curry and LeBron James are the unofficial captains of Team USA

Team USA decided to go with the best players in the NBA. Now, the talks revolve around who among them will be the official captain of the team. Legendary former Duke and Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski asked Team USA Executive Director Grant Hill if LeBron James and Stephen Curry were the team’s leaders.

I'd say the two unofficial captains. The conditioning, professionalism, the energy, they have been absolutely fantastic.

Furthermore, with their combined experience, championship-winning mentality, and competitiveness, it is not surprising that they lead the team. After all, they joined Team USA with the intention of setting the tone. That tone will go on to re-establish the notion that the USA is the best basketball nation.

In all likelihood, Kevin Durant will be the official captain. After all, he has represented Team USA in 3 Olympic gold medals winning campaigns. With this one, he will hold the record for most gold medals. This will allow Curry and James to continue to contribute in their unofficial capacity.
