The Golden State Warriors had made a blistering start to their 2024-25 NBA season by winning both their games. However, most recently, their winning streak ended in their 3rd matchup against the LA Clippers. To make matters worse, the Warriors were without their star man Stephen Curry as he suffered a ‘freak’ injury in the 4th quarter.

Before his typical substitution pattern, Curry hobbled to the bench in obvious pain after seeming to roll his ankle halfway through the final quarter. He was observed wearing a resistance band on his ankle while conversing with trainer Rick Celebrini on the bench. Soon after, he left for the locker room after experiencing discomfort in his ankle, raising questions among the DubNation.

Furthermore, Curry’s absence in the final stages of the game hampered their chances of winning their home matchup. Before leaving the game due to injury, Curry had 18 points, six assists, four rebounds, and two steals in 27 minutes. Guards Brandin Podziemski and backup De’Anthony Melton would probably see more playing time if Curry had to miss time.

Curry just finished a strong season in which he averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in 2023–24. Ten All-Star Game appearances, two NBA MVP honors, and four NBA titles are among his career accomplishments. The DubNation hopes for a positive update regarding his ankle injury during the post-match press conference.

Steve Kerr opens up on Stephen Curry’s ankle injury

The Golden State Warriors suffered their first loss of the 2024-25 NBA season against the Los Angeles Clippers on the home court. However, what caught everyone’s attention was the Warriors star man Stephen Curry suffered an ankle injury in the 4th quarter. Regarding this, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided an ‘important’ update.

In the post-match press conference, Steve Kerr said that the injury suffered by Curry was a ‘mild and moderate ankle sprain.’ He also stated that Curry will get an MRI the next day. Curry is one of the most important players on the Warriors roster this 2024-25 NBA season. The Warriors need the four-time champion to keep their playoff or even title hopes alive.

Anything serious happening to Curry would put an end to the title hopes for the Warriors and their fans. All eyes will now shift to Curry’s MRI report results, which will soon be released. Moreover, the Warriors face off against the New Orleans Pelicans on home court next. It remains to be seen how they will perform in their upcoming matches.
