This weekend’s 2025 All-Star Game in the Bay Area will bring together three players who were key members of the US Olympic gold medal squad from last summer. They ar none other than LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry. However, it is Curry who has been making headlines lately for his recent photo shoot with SLAM Magazine.

Curry recently promoted his “Curry Brand” shoes in a photo shoot with SLAM. The magazine featured three pairs of shoes: the Curry 12 “What The Bay,” the SLAM x Curry 12, and the SLAM x Curry Spawn FloTro. However, fans were not happy with the new colors that were released via the magazine and made it known via social media.

As for his brand, within the Under Armour umbrella, the Golden State Warriors player serves as the President of Curry Brand, his own company. He signed a new lifetime contract with the corporation in 2023, which includes this. After four rings and almost 4,000 three-pointers, Curry has solidified his elite status. He is one of the most influential players in the league’s history as well as his generation.

Not only that, with an estimated $100 million from sponsors and other off-court endeavors, Curry is in the lead. He earned $154 million, including his playing wage, and came in second place in Sportico’s annual ranking of the top 100 sportsmen in the world. With this, he leads all his NBA rivals, including the likes of LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Jayson Tatum.

Fans claim Stephen Curry ‘is just a chill guy’ over recent photoshoot

Over the past ten years, Stephen Curry has been one of the NBA’s most recognizable players. Last year, his most recent long-term Under Armour deal extension increased his off-court earnings. However, his most recent photoshoot with SLAM Magazine did not go down well with many fans in and around the NBA community.

Curry and his band seem to promote the shades in relevance to the Bay Area. However, fans felt that the brand could have done better. In addition, fans were left unhappy with Curry’s pose in the magazine, with some calling him ‘a chill guy.’ One fan wrote on X, “Absolutely no aura.” Check out some of the fan reactions below:

Despite the negative response, Curry has a top deal tied down with Under Armour. As part of the UA deal, he was given $75 million worth of restricted stock units (last year). Notably, these are not included in his present compensation and vest between 2029 and 2034.
