Stephen Curry is undoubtedly one of the greatest and most entertaining players to ever play the game of basketball. And he put on a show once again when the Golden State Warriors defeated the Orlando Magic 120-97 at the Chase Centre on Monday night. It was a much-needed win for the Warriors, who have now won consecutive games after a three-match losing streak.
The win propelled the Warriors to 15-15 as they currently sit at eighth place in the Western Conference standings, while the Magic dropped to sixth but remain in direct playoff contention with a 16-13 record in the Eastern Conference standings.
It was a convincing victory for the Warriors, who had a slow start to the game and were down by four at the end of the first quarter, but never looked back after a dominant second half. Stephen Curry scored a game-high 26 points to go along with three rebounds and six assists while Moses Moody and Jimmy Butler chipped in with 20 and 21 points respectively.
These are promising signs for the Warriors as they have struggled to find any rhythm and consistency this campaign. The veteran core of the team which includes Curry, Butler and Draymond Green are all on the wrong side of 30 and the young players have not shown the required growth that is needed during an NBA season. Hence, there have been a lot of doubts if this team has what it takes to go all the way.
Curry has shown no signs of slowing down this season as the 37-year-old has not missed a beat after his return from injury and is currently averaging 28.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
In the third quarter, the four-time NBA Champion drilled a three-pointer and showed off his new dance celebration, enthralling the fans at the Chase Centre.

If these are the signs for things to come, the Warriors nation will be optimistic about their team’s chances of a direct qualification for the playoffs.

Draymond Green and Steve Kerr have a heated exchange
Green and head coach Steve Kerr share a strong bond with each other and have achieved a lot of success together in the last ten years. Kerr has often defended Green during press conferences despite Green’s questionable actions, while Green has been supportive of his coach as well, most recently defending Kerr on social media.

It has not been a great week for Green as he has not finished back-to-back games now after being ejected on Saturday night against the Phoenix Suns. On Monday night, the former Defensive Player of the Year was seen to be having a heated exchange with Kerr during a timeout after a difficult first quarter for the Dubs.
Following the exchange, Green left the bench and went into the locker room. He returned later in the fourth quarter but was not seen in action on the court.

The Warriors will be hoping that tensions do not escalate between the two, and the consecutive wins will give them some much-needed momentum as the campaign progresses.
