Stephen Curry’s former teammate sends Warriors down to 7th in the West leaving fans in shock: “To the play in we go!”
Former Warriors Harrison Barnes puts a dagger to the Warriors and Stephen Curry's hearts with game-winning basket against them.

Stephen Curry
The Golden State Warriors faced the San Antonio Spurs in a must-win game at the Chase Center to avoid the ‘play-in’ tournament. Just when one would think the Warriors, led by Stephen Curry, would clinch this game, they proved everyone wrong. The Spurs, without their main player, Victor Wembanyama, came out victorious against the Warriors.
The Spurs defeated the Warriors 114-111 on Wednesday. To make matters worse, Harrison Barnes, a former Warrior, broke a tie with a fadeaway three-pointer to overcome the buzzer and send the Chase Center supporters home in agony. The Spurs, especially Barnes, fellow former Warrior Chris Paul, and youngster Stephon Castle, began to figure things out as the Warriors’ offense completely vanished.
Jimmy Butler III scored 28 points and Stephen Curry scored 30 points in the Warriors‘ 2-1 season series loss to the Spurs. Moses Moody and Curry each pulled down eight rebounds, while Draymond Green pulled down nine. However, their efforts weren’t enough to snatch a win against the Spurs.

The Warriors are now in a position to qualify for the play-in tournament after the loss dropped them to the seventh seed in the Western Conference. They will require some assistance from the teams they are competing against in the standings to return to one of the playoff seeds. They no longer have authority over their own fate.
Butler’s addition gave the DubNation a glimmer of hope. However, a series of low performances and poor game results have raised concerns among the fanbase once again. Now, Curry and Co. will be hoping to avoid the play-in tournament going into the final weeks of the regular NBA season.
Fans troll the Warriors after former player Harrison Barnes scores a game-winning 3 against them
Before the start of the Warriors-Spurs matchup, nobody would have expected the former Warrior Harrison Barnes to score the game-winning 3 against them. However, that’s exactly how this unfolded. Barnes made his statement towards his former side at the Chase Center, leaving the DubNation in distress of their recent loss.
Many fans took to various social media apps and sites to put forward their anger and frustrations towards the Warriors’ loss. One fan wrote on X, “Good job boys. To the play in we go.” Check out some of the fan reactions below:
All that hard work the last 2 months goes right out the window because you treated a must win game like it was a game in mid December. Good job boys. To the play in we go https://t.co/2Y03ZxPs5B

The worst part of this loss is that the Warriors have to rely on other sides to avoid the play-in, something that seems inevitable for them. Curry and Co. would have not expected this going into the matchup. Now, only time will tell what lies for the Warriors’ NBA title hopes ahead.
Kendrick Perkins shared his views on the Warriors’ recent loss against the Spurs
A lot of eyes were focused on the Golden State Warriors vs San Antonio Spurs matchup. Many were expecting Stephen Curry and Co. to win this home game. However, they did the opposite, raising many questions among the DubNation. Not only fans, NBA analysts also chimed in on this matter. One of them was Kendrick Perkins.
Horrible L for Golden State.

The term ‘horrible’ is valid for the Warriors. Not only did they lose, they lost against an injury-hampered Spurs side on Wednesday, which crushed their hopes of securing an NBA Playoff spot. In addition to taking a day off to reflect on their performance, the Dubs will travel to Portland to play the Trail Blazers on Friday. Then, hopefully, a more serious unit will arrive.
