Stephen Thompson is one of the nicest fighters to compete in the UFC. When the UFC announced the inaugural BMF (Baddest Motherf**ker) title between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, the MMA community overwhelmingly entertained the idea of gifting an NMF (Nicest Motherf**ker) belt to Thompon. Ariel Helwani even gifted an NMF belt to Thompson after his victory over Vicente Luque.

Max Holloway became the new BMF champion by knocking out Justin Gaethje at UFC 300. For the performance, Holloway won $600K in bonuses. Stephen Thompson made a reaction video of the knockout on Instagram with his younger brother. In a recent interview with Mike Owens of Inside Fighting, Thompson spoke about the BMF title fight.

I've always been a big fan of Holloway. He's another NMF, some guy who just won the BMF, which is pretty cr*zy.

‘Wonderboy’ wanted Max Holloway to win the fight, but the brutal knockout victory surprised him. As Holloway lost to Dustin Poirier in the past at lightweight, Thompson felt ‘Blessed’ would have it difficult against Gaethje, who recently knocked out Poirier. Moreover, Thompson thought the pivotal moment of the fight came in the first round. The sequence saw the spinning back-kick from Holloway breaking Gaethje’s nose.

Nevertheless, ‘Wonderboy’ did not think the KO was the greatest in the UFC. For Thompson, Jorge Masvidal‘s flying knee KO still remained the best. Nonetheless, he did put Holloway vs. Gaethje in the top 5. According to Thompson, Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman II, Michael Bisping vs. Luke Rockhold, and Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping rounded up the top 5.

Stephen Thompson names fellow NMF’s in the UFC

Stephen Thompson has virtually no haters. It is rare to find someone in the MMA community who hated Thompson. Tyron Woodley tried his best to trash talk with Thompson, only to become friends later. As such, Thompson is the unofficial undisputed NMF champion of the UFC.

In his recent interview with Inside Fighting, Thompson revealed fighters in the UFC worthy of the NMF title. According to Thompson, the NMFs in the UFC are Vicente Luque, Robert Whittaker, Tom Aspinall, Max Holloway, and Dustin Poirier. Thompson has already fought Luque and Whittaker and defeated them both. Hilariously, he stated his fight with Luque as the unofficial inaugural NMF title fight, and Ariel Hewlani awarded Thompson an NMF title after the victory.

‘Wonderboy’ recently fought at UFC 296 but lost to Shavkat Rakhmonov via submission. It was the first submission loss for Thompson in his professional MMA career. Since Michael Page‘s UFC debut, fans wanted to see a fight between Page and Thompson. It remains to be seen if a battle against Page is Thompson’s next move.
