Stephen “The Wonderboy” Thompson believes he has done enough to get his title shot, and now he’s done fighting guys below him and if the title shot isn’t there for him then he wants guys above him in the rankings.

Thompson is looking to get back in the octagon after a flawless victory against Geoff Neal at UFC Vegas 19, and before that he secured a victory against Vinvete Luque at UFC 244.

Now with two wins in his column he is looking for his title shot, and if not a title shot he wants a high profile fight, and he also gave some names for the possible opponents.

He said, “Colby Covington, Burns, maybe Leon Edwards if there’s another falling out—I don’t know what could happen between now and then.

“Even Nate Diaz. He said he wants to come back in April or May and that’s my timeframe as well. That’s a guy with a name and I think he’s an OG, man. That makes sense for me. But for somebody that’s ranked behind me, even though Chiesa is right there, give me someone that’s ranked above me. For the past two years, I’ve been fighting guys ranked behind me

Wonderboy isn’t going to fight anyone below him in the rankings

In an interview with MMA Fighting he said, “My last three, four fights have been with guys that are ranked behind me. I want to get a fight with somebody ranked above me, or with a guy with a name big enough to help get me [to a title shot]. Obviously, anybody in the top-five would be good for me if they were willing to do it.”

The champion Usman called out Masvidal after his fight with Gilbert Burns at UFC 258, and as soon as the fight started to get materialize, he seems rather disinterested in it, and now there’s a lot of uncertainty in the division.

But we expect UFC to get things going in the division pretty soon and maybe Wonderboy can face any one of the top guy in a No.1 contender fight.
