“It’s smart for him, he knows he can beat him for a high pay,” Wonderboy thinks Kamaru Usman is playing it safe
The welterweight champion of the UFC “The Nigerian Nightmare” Kamaru Usman called Jorge Masvidal out after his dominating performance at UFC 258 against his former teammate Gilbert Burns.
He called Masvidal out after Masvidal tweeted that he lost their previous bout due to the short notice and if he can get a full camp, he’ll take the champ’s head off, Usman didn’t seem to like that statement and asked for a rematch.
But as soon as the fight started to get materialize, he kind of lost interest and tweeted, “F**ck it, I’m not feeling generous anymore, Anyone can get it.” The “NMF” Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson who holds a victory over Masvidal had an interesting take on this.
He said, “It just doesn’t make sense to fight Masvidal again. He clearly lost. I know it was short notice, but I just think that Kamaru Usman knows. It’s smart for him, he knows he can beat him for a high pay, it’s a big name, there is beef there so it makes sense on his part.”
“You beat pretty much everybody except me in the top five,” Wonderboy wants his chance at the title
Wonderboy is coming off a flawless victory against Geof Neal and he is the number 5 welterweight in the world, and his fight with Kamaru Usman makes sense. Now he has made a valid point for that fight to happen.
He added, “As a fan and as a fighter, and as someone who has been at the top of the game and trying to get title fights, it doesn’t make sense for that to happen. Fight somebody you haven’t fought yet. You beat pretty much everybody except me in the top five. That’s it.”
