Steve Kerr firmly stands ground on Stephen Curry’s minutes restriction in race for playoff spot
Warriors HC Steve Kerr spoke about his star, Stephen Curry's minutes after his side's recent loss to the 76ers in the NBA.

Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr
Stephen Curry scored a team-high 29 points in 36 minutes during Saturday night’s 126-119 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers. The Golden State Warriors had a terrible time without Curry. This was especially during the first half when he was taking his regularly planned break. Notably, his HC Steve Kerr opened up on Curry’s minutes.
Before that, the Warriors even rested Curry during his iconic 56-point game against the Orlando Magic on Friday. After the Magic game, Kerr explained that they are handling his minutes as the Warriors have a tight schedule. Yesterday, reporters questioned Kerr about Curry’s playing time following the loss. It was mostly because the 36-year-old was averaging less than 30 minutes per game.
We got three in four nights. I can’t play him 40 minutes. I don’t really want to play him much more than 34, 35 (minutes).
Steve Kerr told the reporters
After all, Kerr has employed the same tactic with Curry for the better part of the past ten years, and it has had success. Furthermore, the head coach doesn’t seem to be considering any major adjustments to Curry’s substitution scheme, even though the Warriors are currently having trouble shutting out opponents in the second half.

Now, the Warriors are 7th in the Western Conference with a 32-28 record. The Warriors are surely targeting an NBA Playoff spot with the likes of Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green on their roster. However, it won’t be an easy task to pull off with the immense competition surrounding the Warriors this season.
Steve Kerr hails Stephen Curry as ‘greatest shooter ever’ after Magic win
Just a day before, Steve Kerr was full of praises for his star player, Stephen Curry. Before facing the 76ers, the Warriors faced off against the Orlando Magic at the Kia Center. Curry produced ‘magic’ in Orlando, dropping 56 points on them. This left Kerr, as well as the NBA community in awe of his greatness. Kerr opened up on this after the game.
I think the fans here tonight, even the Magic fans, they know they’re witnessing the greatest shooter ever, and one of the greatest performers ever.
Steve Kerr told the reporters
The 36-year-old guard was dominant in his 34 minutes on the court, sinking 12 three-pointers, and shooting 63.2% from beyond the arc. In his comments after the milestone, Kerr reaffirmed his conviction that Curry remains the greatest shooter in NBA history. The four-time champion kept the ball after the game as a keepsake and memento of what will surely be one of the most memorable nights in his storied career.
