The Golden State Warriors one of the highly decorated franchises in the NBA has been making the headlines lately. The Warriors’ Klay Thompson, who began his career with the Warriors, and won multiple championships with them is on the verge of leaving the Warriors when free agency begins on June 30. Notably, Steve Kerr, NBA’s highest-paid coach shared his views on Thompson leaving the Warriors on a recent podcast.

In an open appeal for Thompson to remain in the Bay Area, Steve Kerr appeared on the Jim Rome Show to talk about everything Warriors, including the 2024 NBA draft. Kerr also claimed that Thompson is one of the main players on the Warriors’ roster and highlighted the player has a bond with the franchise and its fans.

What I do know is Klay has been such an integral part of everything around here, obviously he's a multi-time champion, but even more than that, just someone who has such a great connection with the Bay Area, with the franchise, with his teammates. We want Klay back desperately, I want him back desperately...He's Klay Thompson.
On the Jim Rome Show, Steve Kerr said

In addition, Thompson has not been performing like the way he used to perform in the previous NBA seasons. This is one of the reasons the Warriors did not come in quick contract terms with him. Also, last season, the Warriors guard was below average defensively and shot less than 40 percent from three for just the second time in his career.

With Klay Thompson‘s contract coming to an end with the Golden State Warriors, Thompson made some moves that left the Warriors fans puzzled. Fans began to worry that the Golden State Warriors would be losing their illustrious shooting guard when Thompson erased certain posts and unfollowed the team on Instagram.

Notably, Draymond Green shared his views on Thompson unfollowing the Warriors on Instagram.

I know all of you are were probably looking forward to me talking about Klay unfollowing the Warriors, deleting some IG posts or something. I had no idea that happened. I think it's f—ing hilarious. I think that's comical. I know you all would be wanting somebody's feelings to be hurt or something. It ain't that. It ain't ever going to be that. That's hilarious.
On the Draymond Green Show, Draymond Green said

In addition, Thompson seems to be frustrated with the Warriors regarding his contract extension. This is due to Contract talks between the two parties being “frozen,” according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, and no offer was “currently on the table” for the 34-year-old.
