Steve Kerr TAUNTS Donald Trump with Stephen Curry reference at Democratic convention
Donald Trump trolled by Steve Kerr with Stephen Curry's night-night celebration reference predicting Presidential election results.
Stephen Curry night-night celebration used by Steve Kerr to troll Donald Trump
Steve Kerr has completed his run as Team USA head coach. After winning gold at the Paris Olympics, the Golden State Warriors’ head coach is back home. With the way the team’s roster situation is playing out, Kerr generally would have been working out on how to maximize the team around Stephen Curry. But instead, he was in Chicago, to talk about Donald Trump.
The nine-time NBA Champion was one of the guest speakers at the Democratic Convention at the United Center in Chicago. As one of the speakers on Day 1, Steve Kerr took to the podium to give his support behind Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. But just as he was about to wrap up his speech, he couldn’t help himself from plugging his star player’s celebration.
After the results are tallied that night, we can in the words of the great Steph Curry, we can tell Donald Trump...night-night.Steve Kerr said
Kerr was obviously suggesting that if the elections were run fairly, the Democrats would win. He also referenced the night-night celebration, as that is what he expects the elections to show Donald Trump.
Steve Kerr and former President Donald Trump do not have any love for each other. Both have taken shots, both direct and indirect, whenever the situation came up. Kerr in particular has long voiced against the policies Trump has taken in the past. Much like his most important player Stephen Curry has done too.
But this troll was on a different plateau, as he took the freshest memory on the minds of Americans to take shots at Trump. Everyone, irrespective of their allegiance to either political side, has some idea of what the celebration refers to.
Steve Kerr moving on from Team USA opens door for Erik Spoelstra
Steve Kerr and Team USA mutually deciding to end his tenure as the head coach of the men’s basketball team opens the door for his assistants at the Paris Olympics, Erik Spoelstra and Ty Lue to be next in line to replace him. An easier said than done situation, considering both are championship-winning coaches and would love to lead.
But it could tilt in the direction of the Miami Heat coach. If one saw his crucial interventions during the semifinal game against Serbia, fans would know he is one of the best coaches in basketball. In fact, many players in the league, including Paris Olympics MVP LeBron James speas highly of Spoelstra’s coaching.
The 53-year-old’s ability to do more with less will be crucial going forward. In the next iteration of the Summer Games, Team USA will be without elite superstars such as Stephen Curry, James and Kevin Durant. He will have to work with younger players to get the best out of them. Something he is adept at during his time with the Miami Heat.
