Tensions are often elevated at combat sports events, where fighters, teams, and supporters regularly share close quarters. Altercations between camps or attendees have occurred at several high-profile cards over the years. That backdrop carried into the Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul event. During the night, popular streamer Jack Doherty became involved in a brawl with UFC legend Andrei Arlovski.

Arlovski is a long-standing figure in UFC history, having competed in the promotion from 2000 until 2024. While his career was marked by ups and downs, his size and knockout power made him a consistent threat in the heavyweight division. He remained competitive across multiple eras of the division. His longevity alone placed him among the most recognizable heavyweights in MMA.

The incident unfolded following the Paul vs. Joshua fight at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Doherty’s entourage was seen crossing paths with Arlovski in the arena concourse. While Doherty did not initiate the altercation, at least one member of the group threw a punch, and the heavyweight veteran responded physically. Security personnel intervened and escorted Arlovski away as the situation was diffused.

Doherty is known for prank-based content and comedy videos shared on YouTube and livestreams on Kick. One recurring stunt involves intentionally bumping into people in public spaces, only for bodyguards to step in. That approach has drawn attention online for its confrontational nature. The tactic proved ineffective when applied in close proximity to a seasoned combat sports veteran like Arlovski.

During his UFC tenure, Arlovski captured the interim heavyweight title and recorded notable wins over Frank Mir, Fabricio Werdum, and Travis Browne. Although he exited the promotion in 2024, he had remained active and competitive prior to a late-career losing streak. His power and experience kept him relevant well into his forties as few heavyweights matched his length of service at the top level.

Since leaving the UFC, Andrei Arlovski has competed in Dirty Boxing and bare-knuckle fighting promotions, earning knockout victories. He is scheduled to face former rival Ben Rothwell at BKFC KnuckleMania 6. The altercation added unexpected attention to his post-UFC chapter. Jack Doherty’s involvement further highlighted the intersections between combat sports and internet personalities.

Altercations outside the cage have increasingly become part of the conversation around major combat sports events. Recent cards have seen tensions spill over into public areas involving fighters and entourages. UFC 322 was one such example, where a brawl broke out between members of Islam Makhachev’s team and Dillon Danis. These incidents have highlighted growing security challenges.

Andrei Arlovski later addressed his involvement in the altercation with Jack Doherty through his social media platforms. He outlined his position without expanding on specific physical actions. Arlovski stated that his actions were based on intent rather than escalation and that he did not attend the event seeking conflict.

I guess because they were looking for content for their website and I guess I was the victim. They thought maybe it was going to be easy content for YouTube. Maybe that’s why. Maybe I’m old. Maybe because it was like three idiots and a big bodyguard. So, I have to be more alert and pay attention to people that are around. That’s the lesson.

The ‘Pitbull’ later released a separate video in which he addressed questions surrounding the incident. During the appearance, he acknowledged the presence of Doherty’s bodyguard at the time of the altercation. Arlovski indicated that he would be willing to step into a ring against the bodyguard under regulated conditions. The statement added another development to the situation without escalating it.

Jack Doherty also addressed the incident publicly and denied starting the altercation with Andrei Arlovski. He stated that Arlovski initiated physical contact by kicking him first during the encounter. Doherty also pushed back against online narratives that portrayed him as solely responsible. He argued that public perception ignored his claim that Arlovski was the initial aggressor.
