Angel Reese has been working hard over the past few years to establish herself as one of the better athletes in the WNBA. She has the fame, but her game draws criticism from folks such as Dave Portnoy, who did not appreciate her comparing herself to Caitlin Clark.

It all started at the 2023 NCAA National Championship game after the LSU forward taunted Clark with the exact same ‘you can’t see me’ celebration that the latter used in the Final Four game that year.

Portnoy was among those who labeled Reese as being classless for adding insult to injury, after already defeating Clark and her Iowa Hawkeyes to clinch the national championship.

Since then, the Barstool Sports owner has been at the front of the queue when criticizing Reese, especially when it came to defending Clark. Some believe Portnoy’s criticism of the Chicago Sky forward has bordered on racism.

He clarified his stance while on the Club Shay Shay podcast, saying that as a sports fan, he was defending the player he is a fan of, in this case, Caitlin Clark. Portnoy reiterated that it was purely sports fanaticism, but Reese’s fans were not convinced.

The 48-year-old is possibly entertaining the idea of appearing alongside the StudBudz crew on their live stream. After this came to light, Angel Reese‘s fans criticized Natisha Hiedeman and Courtney Williams for entertaining this.

When Dave comes on, we’re gonna ask him, ‘Hey Dave, why are you talking about Angel like that?’ Because we love her bad. Y’all see how simple that is.

The Minnesota Lynx pair understood some of their fans were unhappy, but hoped this would clear things out. Apparently, it didn’t, and a wave of social media posts claimed the pair were clout chasing.

StudBudz clarify Angel Reese and Dave Portnoy stance

Those comments suggesting StudBudz was trying to make hay at the expense of Angel Reese reached Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman. That brought out a response from the All-Star.

I’ll have a conversation with ANYBODY tbh. Don’t mean I rock with their views or the things that they’ve done. And quite frankly I’ll address ANYBODY. We getting a lil’ clout and I guess y’all forgetting how we give it up.

The 31-year-old made it clear that just because they accepted Dave Portnoy‘s suggestion to get him on their live stream does not mean she or Hiedeman agree with everything he says.

Clout & Bread don’t move us twins. We prayed for times like this, so best believe we covered. We’ll stand tall in ANY room with ANYBODY.

This was a follow-up tweet from the Georgia native who believes StudBudz are not wrong to latch on to the success of their 72-hour live stream. However, they still believe they will grill Dave Portnoy over his comments about Angel Reese.

Angel Reese’s fans attack Courtney Williams on social media

It seems all these assurances have not helped stop Angel Reese’s fans from voicing their displeasure. An hour and a half after Courtney Williams posted those two tweets, she wrote another one.

I can’t open any of my social platforms without being called a ugly bald headed b***h. Y’all crazy man, I love it.

This tweet indicates the Sky forward‘s fans have been relentlessly attacking the Lynx guard and calling her all sorts of names. At a time when the StudBudz brought the WNBA and their fans together, it seems Reese’s fans are not happy with their latest move.

Hopefully, when Dave Portnoy does come on to their live stream, their fears will be put to rest. Both StudBudz hosts are great friends with the LSU star and might not do anything to undermine their friendship.
