Angel Reese stands tall among women’s basketball players with the most followers on social media. On the flip side, she also faces the most criticism from sections of fans, most of whom are loyal to her rival, Caitlin Clark.

One of the Fever guard’s staunch supporters, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, has been at the forefront of all criticisms levelled at Reese. That has led many of her supporters to claim that his attacks border on racism.

Those same supporters have been throwing a fit after the StudBudz crew of Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman seemingly accepted Portnoy’s suggestion to feature him on their next major live stream.

They received a lot of backlash, with some directing derogatory comments towards Williams. The duo decided to take a stand and went live on their Twitch channel, and said:

We’ve been being ourselves, and at this point, we open to have conversations with anybody. Quite frankly, if anybody is going to stand on business in a room and address situations, it’s going to be us. We don’t care who we are getting in the room with, we are going to have a conversation with people, and move off that.

Natisha Hiedeman said

The pair earlier mentioned that they would grill Dave Portnoy over his remarks against Angel Reese. But since her fans were not impressed, they came out with this stand, which the Barstool Sports owner reposted on his X account.

StudBudz clears the air with Angel Reese

Despite all their efforts, Angel Reese’s fans kept claiming that the StudBudz duo were doing this for their own benefit. This was going to be detrimental for the Chicago Sky forward, and hence they were asking them to avoid scheduling this live stream.

The StudBudz have talked to Angel, and she knows we don’t play about her AT ALL. End of Story.

This was the Minnesota Lynx guard clearing the situation for those agitated fans. Now they have spoken to Reese about their plans and have received confirmation from her that she is sure they will not undermine her in any way.

This should ease the minds of those fans who were constantly blitzing the StudBudz twins into pressuring them to drop the live stream with Dave Portnoy. However, it is unlikely to happen until they see for themselves that StudBudz do not allow Portnoy to get away lightly.

Those fans will be waiting for a chance to pounce on Williams and Hiedeman if they feel the duo did not do enough to safeguard Angel Reese from further hate or criticism.

Angel Reese-less Sky embarrassingly lost to Storm

Whatever the result of this upcoming live stream will be, Angel Reese can only control what she has in her hands. She has been performing exceptionally well over the past few games, and Sky fans hoped it would continue.

In her last game, her 9 turnovers became a talking point, as fans felt her mind was not in the game. In their latest game against the Seattle Storm, the Maryland native did not suit up. She is struggling with a back injury and wore a brace around her dress during the game.

She watched from the sidelines as the visiting Storm obliterated her teammates every step of the way. The deficit was enough for them to rest their starters after the 1st half. The Sky looked lost and, along with their injury problems, finished the game with an embarrassing 57-95 score.

Both Reese and her teammates will be looking to bounce back. They next face the Indiana Fever at the United Center. With Caitlin Clark out for an unspecified period, Reese may return to the court. Her team needs her to win games if they are to fight for a playoff spot.
