The Olympic gold medalist, Serena Williams, made the best out of worst, that is the year 2020. In light of keeping herself mentally engaged, the tennis champ took up baking cookies, cakes and singing karaoke. She did so along with her three-year-old daughter, Alexia Olympia Ohanian Jr.  

Williams took full advantage of the ‘forced stay at home’ by spending quality time with her daughter. After playing back her and Olympia’s karaoke session, Williams further elaborated on what the duo did to pass time together.

Williams has been quite open and engaging about carrying her professional and personal life. She has not been one to sugar coat the work they both require. Even so, the 39-year-old has managed to find a healthy balance between the two, inspiring working mothers everywhere.

In an interview with Kelly Clarkson, Williams sent in a clip wherein she and her daughter jammed on ‘Paw Patrol’s’ theme. With her energy and enthusiasm, Olympia stole the limelight from the 23-time Grand Slam champion.

Citing this, Williams compared Olympia to the host who is a singer herself. “I’ve got my own little Kelly Clarkson! And, that was like, we weren’t even rehearsing. I just pressed record and that was her. Such a performer,” she stated.

Serena’s young one has inspired her to take up new activities such as baking. Moreover, Olympia is the one who expresses numerous ideas regarding the same to her mother.

Giving an insight on their cooking endeavours, Serena added, “We were just making a strawberry shortcake. She’s been asking me every day for a strawberry shortcake. She loves baking. It’s crazy. I’ve actually never even baked cookies.”

“So when quarantine first started, my cookies were literally black. And, now I am baking a cake. I don’t know where she gets this baking idea or cooking idea from,” she concluded.
