As for the Knicks, Lee would have enjoyed watching them perform all season as they ended their campaign by finishing #3 seed in the East. They ended up losing to the Pacers in the ECF Finals. Something that they will be looking to make amends for as the new 2025-26 NBA season approaches.

For those who don’t know Sunisa Lee, she is a proper warrior. The 22-year-old has been through it all, from highs to lows in her career. So much so that, at one stage, she was battling a career-ending kidney disease and overcame it, leaving many in awe of her mentality and willpower. The 22-year-old American, who took home the gold in all-around at the Tokyo Olympics, disclosed in 2023 that the illness made it difficult for her to get out of bed at times. It also caused swelling in her face, fingers, and legs.

I was really nervous and obviously very sad because gymnastics is all I know. Getting sick was very random. It kind of happened one Tuesday and it’s something you can’t wrap your head around… Now that I am doing a lot better I am so grateful for the way that things turned out.

Lee also claimed that the treatment she underwent made her calm, and she is in a better place than she was in 2023. Her warrior mentality was visible to the world when she participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics despite battling the disease off the scenes.

Yeah, I think it’s incredible… There’s certain powerhouses in each sport and it’s really cool to see. And I think it’s just really important for each woman to get their flowers and their moments.

The first season of Unrivaled, a 3×3 women’s basketball league founded by WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, started earlier in 2025.
