Toney reportedly snatched the woman’s cell phone to prevent her from dialing 911 and getting help from the cops.

Kadarius Toney’s arrest

Toney’s arrest caused mayhem on social media

The New York Giants spent an arm and a leg to acquire Toney in the 2021 draft. They traded back the No. 11 pick to acquire the No. 20 pick, allowing the Chicago Bears to move up to draft quarterback Justin Fields. In addition, they bagged a fifth-round pick, plus a first-rounder and a fourth-rounder in 2022 from the Bears.

On the surface, the Giants appear to have won the draft. However, drafting Toney meant they passed on offensive tackle Rashawn Slater or linebacker Micah Parsons. Slater went to the Pro Bowl twice and bagged one second-team All-Pro honor playing for the Los Angeles Chargers, while Parsons is a 2x first-team All-Pro, 2021 defensive rookie of the year, and went to four Pro Bowls.

Conversely, Toney became a walking meme, dropping catches left, right, and center. The Giants traded him to the Chiefs in 2022, where he peaked for a few games and even won two rings. However, a crucial offside during the divisional round fixture against the Buffalo Bills was enough for the Chiefs to release him.

After a brief spell in Cleveland in 2024, he ended up in free agency with close to zero hopes of a team eyeing him in the offseason until he ended up in jail for assault.

Kadarius Toney appeared in a total of 33 games (started in 10), caught 82 passes for 760 yards, and scored three touchdowns. After playing seasons in the NFL, Toney accumulated a net worth of $1.5 million.
