The 2023-24 NCAA women’s college basketball season was filled with young talent. The future WNBA stars made the season historic by showcasing their impact on the game. One of those stars is the USC Trojans freshman JuJu Watkins.

The young athlete’s incredible game has caught the attention of NBA superstar LeBron James. The veteran player has been spotted watching Watkins’ games at courtside and has also provided valuable advice to her. Watkins recently appeared on ‘Podcast P with Paul George‘ where she was asked about her conversation with James.

Watkins expressed feeling grateful for the Los Angeles Lakers star showing up and making time to watch the team’s games. James’ connection to Watkins is also based on his son Bronny James, who plays for the same team. But the four-time champion makes an effort to be present for both teams’ games and show his support.

JuJu Watkins‘ season has been amazing as she averaged 27.1 points which is the second rank for most points per game in the league. Despite losing the Elite Eight matchup, in her last game, Watkins broke the Division I freshman scoring record. James also made sure to acknowledge that and congratulate her on his Instagram.

Back in February JuJu Watkins shocked the basketball world by having an unreal score against Stanford. The 18-year-old scored 51 of Trojans’ 67 points. The star also had a double-double as she took her team to a victory.

Her performance made her the Pac-12 Player of the Week for the 12th time in her freshman season. The basketball netizens were certainly excited after Watkins’ unreal achievement. To join the crowd, James took to his Instagram to congratulate his ‘lil sis’. The star was hyped as Watkins was only 7 points behind Stanford’s entire score.

The youngster is claimed to be the most all-around player in women’s basketball currently by many pros and fans alike. The athlete’s consistent amazing performances have started a WNBA buzz for the player, however, considering Watkins is still a freshman, she will not be eligible for the draft till 2029.
