Jonathan Owens looked busy when his wife and gymnast Simone Biles prepared herself for the Gold Medal bout at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday (July 30). The Chicago Bears safety who took special permission from the team to cheer for Biles was in awe every time she completed a tricky move.
Owens, wearing a Biles-inspired T-Shirt sat in the stands with her parents. Amidst cheering for the 27-year-old, Owens appeared to be busy with something else.
While the announcer went through the statistics of the athletes competing in the event, the 29-year-old wrote down a few things on a piece of paper. The details about the content are unclear, but it only proved how involved he was in learning more about Biles and her talents.

Owens disclosed a special clause that he asked his agent to put in his contract. He made it clear to the Bears front office about attending the Paris Olympics to be with Biles.
It was something me and my agent talked about when we went in and I signed with the team. The Olympics coming up and who my wife [Simone Biles] is, that was just something... it was all respectful. We went to them and just asked, ‘We would [really] appreciate it if he could go and support his wife,’ and they were really cool about it.Jonathan Owens said per Associated Press
Last season, Ownes had to digest a media trial after he revealed being unaware of who Biles was before meeting her. Biles was the one who pinged the 29-year-old Instagram and their love story took off. The pair announced their marriage in April 2023.
