The Dawid Malan catch that came under scrutiny
Suryakumar Yadav got off to a dream start in his international career as he notched up a half-century in the fourth T20I for India against England. However, his wicket off Sam Curran‘s bowling when was caught by Dawid Malan at fine-leg seemed dodgy and controversial. The umpire looked at various angles before going with the on-field call of out which resulted in Surya being dismissed for 57.
The fourth T20I is extremely important in the context of the series due to the fact that England are already 2-1 up in the series. Further, the two T20Is that remain are the only ones officially scheduled in a bilateral series ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup leading to both teams looking for their best team combinations.

Suryakumar Yadav was going strong at 57 when he attempted a sweep over the fine leg fielder off Sam Curran’s bowling. Dawid Malan caught it but seemed to have just about grassed it. The umpires gave the soft signal as out and went upstairs. The third umpire looked at various angles before adjudging that there wasn’t conclusive evidence to overturn the call of ‘out’.
