India vs England 2021: Suryakumar Yadav could make his ODI debut in the second ODI – Reports

Suryakumar Yadav who had a dream debut series in the T20Is against England could soon get his debut ODI cap as well today in the second ODI against England in Pune. The flamboyant batsman played in three T20Is and although he didn’t get a chance to bat in the first, he made excellent use of the next two opportunities to come up with two crucial innings to help his side to victory.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer‘s injury could open up a spot for him in the ODI team and reports from The Times of India have stated the same. The former got injured in the first ODI while fielding as he landed on his left shoulder and dislocated it. Reports have now revealed that he is set to not only miss the remainder of the ODI series but also the entirety of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season where he is the captain of the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise.
Rohit Sharma fit to play
Meanwhile, another person who injured his elbow during the first ODI, Rohit Sharma has been deemed fit to feature in the second ODI. According to the TOI report, Rohit will play in the second ODI. There could also be a change in the spin bowling department with Yuzvendra Chahal coming in for Kuldeep Yadav.
Meanwhile, in the England camp, two players will miss the second ODI due to injury and one of them is skipper Eoin Morgan who has been ruled out of the series with a split webbing. Sam Billings has also been ruled out of the second ODI alone due to a sprained collarbone. Dawid Malan has been drafted in as cover while Liam Livingstone is set to make his debut.
