India vs England 2021: WATCH – Suryakumar Yadav hits his first ball in international cricket for a spectacular six
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav began his international career in scintillating fashion as he hit his very first ball bowled by Jofra Archer for a huge six over fine leg. Suryakumar had debuted in T20I cricket in the second T20I against England that India won with ease. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t given a chance to bat as the top order batsmen finished off the game before he could walk in to bat.
He was subsequently dropped for the third T20I to accommodate the returning Rohit Sharma. It seemed like he would find it difficult to get back in to the side again without having received a chance to prove himself. However, an opportunity presented itself when Ishan Kishan suffered a groin strain that ruled him out of the fourth match. Suryakumar Yadav was promptly brought in to the team.
Watch – Suryakumar Yadav’s mind-blowing six
Suryakumar Yadav walked in to bat in the fourth over of India’s innings bowled by Jofra Archer after his Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed caught and bowled. Rather than knocking the ball around before taking on the bowlers, Suryakumar decided to take on Archer and off a bouncer at that. The bouncer came towards the leg stump near his shoulder and the batter hoicked it over fine leg for a big six.
The confident start and the mind-blowing six is receiving huge praise on social media and was also lauded by commentators on-air for the sheer audacity of doing it on the first ball of his career.
