“I’ve got a lot left over”: Lia Thomas slammed by Caitlyn Jenner over comments
Caitlyn Jenner and Lia Thomas
Caitlyn Jenner was recently at the centre of quite the controversy, after she called out a transgender winner of the US Swimming College Championships. Swimmer Lia Thomas made the headlines, after becoming the first transgender athlete to win the Women’s NCAA Swimming Championships. She bagged the gold medal ahead of Emma Weyant in the women’s 500 yard freestyle event.
Caitlyn Jenner also tweeted out against Thomas, saying “Agreed! She [Weyant] is the rightful winner! It’s not transphobic or anti-trans, it’s COMMON SENSE!”. Recently Jenner had a lot more to say to Thomas, as she shared her experience of her transition and how that applies to Thomas as well.

Jenner compared herself to becoming the golf player after her transition. “I’ve been on for seven years of full transition, been on hormone replacement, and I can still hit the golf ball 280, 290 yards. There’s a lot left over,” said Jenner according to washingtontimes.com. Jenner won the gold medal in the decathlon event at the Olympics in 1976.
The average driving distance on the LPGA tour is about 250 yards. The longest known drive for a woman is Kristine Pedersen of Denmark, who drives an average of 282 yards. It was also recently found that an average men’s drive on the PGA Tour is 295.3 years. According to this information, Jenner thinks that regardless of transitioning, there is still some inherent advantage, and therefore Thomas should not compete with women.
