PV Sindhu’s match will be one of the most awaited ones as she seems to be regaining form after her last brilliant performance at the World Championships 2019 in Basel. She has been in good form this tournament winning all her matches so far in straight games. Mia Blichfeldt has been playing extremely wee recently and is a promising player for Denmark. Sindhu is, however, a more seasoned player among the two.

PV Sindhu vs Mia Blichfeldt: Head-to-Head

Sindhu leads the head to head 3-1. Mia’s only victory against the Rio Silver medalist was the one in the first round of the Yonex Thailand Open, earlier this January. It was Sindhu’s first match after the tournament resumes post the lockdowns. However, as the records show, playing against Mia hasn’t been a cakewalk for the Indian. Two of the matches have been three-setters and the straight games too extremely close at the 19th point and deuce.

PV Sindhu vs Mia Blichfeldt: Match Prediction

This is going to be a close match as both players are in good form. Sindhu is not going to have it easy and will have to be at her level best to beat Mia. Mia if brimming with confidence and has psychological advantage of having beaten Sindhu recently. Sindhu also needs to be mentally strong, not make errors and play a consistent game with tactics on point to beat Mia.

Prediction: PV Sindhu wins a close match.

Carolina Marin vs Pornpawee Chochuwong: Women’s singles semi-finals Match Preview

Carolina Marin Pornpawee Chochuwong
Carolina Marin and Pornpawee Chochuwong

A fiery Carolina Marin, seeded number one will take on the third seed Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand in the semi-final of the women’s singles category. Marin has beaten all her opponents in straight sets at ease in not more than 35 minutes each. Chochuwong has worked up the draws the hard way playing longer matches.

Carolina Marin vs Pornpawee Chochuwong: Head-to-Head

Carolina Marin, being one of the best in the world has a whooping 7-1 head-to-head lead against the Thai. The only time Carolina Marin lost to Chochuwong was in the final of the Barcelona Spain Masters 2020. It was a challenging match for Marin then as she had just lost her father and she wanted to dedicate the title at her home ground to her beloved father. However, she lost out that game mentally.

Carolina Marin vs Pornpawee Chochuwong: Match Prediction

Needless to say, Marin is a formidable player at the moment as is playing brilliantly at a pace hardly a few top players as Tai Tzu Ying can match. However, the Thais are quite tricky, gritty, and determines in their game and always fight and try to get their feet into the game. So Marin will have to be proactive, be commanding, dictate the rallies, which she usually does to be able to convert this match in her favor. Chochuwong on the other hand, will have to be more aggressive, increase her pace and power to tackle Carolina.

Prediction: Carolina Marin to win and make it to the final.
