After a thrilling 18-inning Game 3 win on Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost 6-2 in Game 4 on Tuesday. Actress Sydney Sweeney found herself catching some flak from MLB fans on social media after the Dodgers dropped this game.
Game 3 saw the hosts edge out the Toronto Blue Jays in an all-time classic. A walk-off home run from Freddie Freeman in the 18th inning saw the Dodgers emerge as 6-5 winners and put them 2-1 in this best-of-seven series.
18 hours after that classic game, the two sides were back on the field. Shohei Ohtani, who reached base 9 times in Game 3 through 4 hits and 5 walks (4 intentional), was on the mound as the starting pitcher for Game 4.
After going 1-0 down, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. would get the better of Ohtani. The 2025 ALCS MVP smashed a go-ahead 2-run home run off the NLCS MVP to put the Blue Jays 2-1 up.

As the Blue Jays dominated the Dodgers, Sweeney found herself catching some heat from the fans. Several users started pointing out her bizarre connection with the Blue Jays and called her a “jinx” for the teams she reps.
In July 2022, the actress would throw the first ceremonial pitch before a game between the Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park in Boston. She would don a Red Sox jersey that day. The hosts went on to get crushed 28-5 in that game, as the Blue Jays set franchise records for the most runs in a game (28), most hits (29), and most runs in a single inning (11).
Sydney Sweeney blamed by MLB fans for Dodgers’ Game 4 loss
After the highs on Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers went through the lows on Tuesday. The reigning champions lost 6-2 in Game 4. While many fans questioned the team for their play, some started blaming actress Sydney Sweeney for their loss.

Fans on X pointed fingers at her and called her bad luck for the teams she supports. One user wrote, “It’s her fault” and made their feelings known. Check out that and some more reactions from the fans from X below:

Dave Roberts claims Dodgers have not found their rhythm following Game 4 loss
The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to keep their momentum going from their Game 3 win as they suffered a 6-2 defeat on Tuesday. Following the game, manager Dave Roberts claimed that the team has still not found their rhythm in the World Series.

The Dodgers’ offense has looked bleak in the Fall Classic this year. Apart from a few top names, many have struggled at the plate. The struggles in the batting lineup has thus become a major concern for him and his team.
We haven’t found our rhythm. We haven’t. It sort of draws dead at certain parts of the lineup in different innings, different games.
Dave Roberts told the reporters

Mookie Betts is one of those who has had a difficult time in the World Series this year. The 8-time MLB All-Star is 3-for-19 in the series and has failed to produce any runs.
The Dodgers will be hoping for some run support from him and the others as they prepare for a crucial Game 5 on Wednesday. The winners of this game will get one step closer to winning the World Series.
