Mikel Arteta resorted to a defensive partnership between Jurrien Timber and Ayden Heaven as the Gunners held on to a 1-1 draw in normal time. Penalties immediately followed, in which Karl Hein expertly kept out two penalty kicks which ultimately handed Arsenal the win. 5-4 read the final score as Arteta’s men regroup for their second game three days from now at SoFi Stadium.

Fans will certainly be excited to see witness the exciting matchup, even though the two sides are unlikely to go all out in the friendly. Arsenal’s long list of friendlies doesn’t end there, with games against Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, and Olympique Lyonnais all scheduled within the space of ten days. The Gunners kick off their Premier League campaign against Wolves on the 18th of August.
