IPL 2021: “I will miss the SRH family” – T Natarajan leaves Sunrisers Hyderabad to undergo knee surgery

T Natarajan
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were dealt a big blow yesterday when their ace pacer T Natarajan was ruled out of the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The left-arm bowler had played in the first two matches for his side this year before missing out on the next two games due to a knee issues. It was then revealed that the injury was serious and hence, a surgery would be required, meaning Natarajan will miss the remainder of the season.
SRH have won just one of their first four matches and it would certainly be a big loss for them. Last season, Natarajan had his breakout season as he earned a reputation for delivering yorkers at will. He then went on to play for India across all three formats in Australia and has become an integral part of the T20 set-up. Although SRH have Khaleel Ahmed as a like-for-like replacement who has also performed well, Natarajan’s absence is bound to be felt.
T Natarajan leaves the SRH camp

Natarajan left the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp today and the franchise posted a video of him addressing the fans captioning it, “”I’m sad to miss the remaining games this season.” – @Natarajan_91 has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury and we along with the entire squad wish him a speedy recovery.”
In the video, Natarajan can be seen saying, “I’m sad to miss the remaining games. Since I played well last season and went on to play for India, my expectations were high. Unfortunately, I have to undergo a knee surgery. I will miss this season. Thank you to the SRH family – support staff and players. They supported and motivated me a lot. I’ll miss the SRH family. I don’t have more words to say. I wish Sunrisers win each and every match from now on. Best wishes.”
SRH’s next match is against Delhi Capitals on the 25th of April.
