Nikola Jokic, popularly known as ‘The Joker’ is a Serbian professional basketball player. He’s a crucial center piece for the Denver Nuggets. Intelligent playmaking coupled with his vision in the game, Jokic has grown in the league as a 2x NBA MVP.

Nikola Jokic’s brothers are the ones to thank, for generating an interest in Nikola for the game of basketball. Jokic started his successful journey before entering the NBA. He played youth basketball for Vojvodina Srbijagas in Serbia, where he treaded fast as a prominent figure and Mega Basket signed him in 2012. Finally, in 2014, Jokic was drafted by the Denver Nuggets as a second-round pick but his NBA journey began a year later in 2015.

Jokic proceeded with his NBA career in fashion. He finished 3rd in Rookie of the Year voting and made it to the All-NBA Rookie first team. The 6’11” center was named the 2017 Most Improved Player of the Year. A year later in 2018, Nuggets clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2013, all thanks to ‘The Joker’. Alongside Jamal Murray, Jokic formed a terrific duo, making it a memorable postseason for Denver in 2021. They played the Western Conference Finals against the eventual champions Los Angeles Lakers, marking the Nuggets as tough playoff contenders.
