Rudy Gobert’s early life

Born in Saint-Quentin, Aisne, Gobert comes from the lineage of a basketball player. His father, Rudy Bourgarel played college basketball in the USA for Marist Red Foxes in the 1980s. In 2003, Gobert joined the St. Quentin BB club. In 2010, Gobert played at FIBA Europe U-18 Championship as part of the French U-18 national team.

When was Rudy Gobert drafted?

Rudy Gobert had previously participated in the NBA Development League games with Bakersfield Jam. He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 2013 NBA draft as the 27th overall pick. However, on the same night, Gobert was traded to Utah Jazz. It was later in the 2022 offseason when he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves.
