Full Name Alexa Grasso

Alexa Grasso is the first female fighter of Mexican origin to hold the UFC flyweight championship. Born on August 9, 1993, in Guadalajara, Mexico, Grasso began her professional MMA career in 2012.  During her first 18 months in MMA, she accumulated a record of 5 wins.  Grasso first gained international attention as the strawweight champion of the Mexican promotion, Invicta Fighting Championships. She won all three of her fights in the organization, displaying her striking skills and tenacity in the cage.

Alexa Grasso signed with the UFC in 2016 and made her debut in November of that year. Grasso lost her first fight against Felice Herrig at UFC fight night 104.

She has faced some of the toughest opponents in the strawweight division, including Felice Herrig, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and Carla Esparza. After missing weight and an unsuccessful run at the strawweight, Alexa decided to make a move up to the flyweight. Grasso was undefeated in her flyweight run and soon earned a title shot at the flyweight title. Grasso faced Valentina Shevchenko and defeated her with one of the tightest face cranks in round four.  While Alexa Grasso is Known for her crisp striking and excellent footwork, Grasso also earned a reputation as a great grappler and a complete fighter in the UFC.
