Lance Stroll is a Canadian-Belgian racing driver who currently competes for Aston Martin in Formula 1. He was born on 29 October 1998 in Montreal, Canada to Lawrence Stroll and Claire-Anne Callens. His Canadian father, Lawrence, is a billionaire and part-owner of Aston Martin, while his Belgian mother, Claire-Anne is a fashion designer. Stroll currently races under the flag of the country of his birth, Canada.

When did Lance Stroll join Formula 1?

Lance Stroll made his Formula 1 debut for Williams back in 2017, at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. He didn’t have the best start to his career – retiring in three straight races, to begin with, but scored his first points in Canada, and then got a fantastic podium finish in the next race in Azerbaijan. He scored a total of 40 points in his debut season.

Lance Stroll has scored a total of 194 points in his Formula 1 career, helped along by his 3 podiums. He also, seemingly out of nowhere, took pole position at the 2020 Turkish GP. However, till now, he hasn’t been able to win a race. In his junior racing career, Stroll won the Italian F4 championship in 2014, the Toyota Racing Series in 2015, and the Formula 3 European Championship in 2016. After this, he didn’t race in F2, instead, he made the jump to F1 straightaway.
