The ongoing edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) witnessed another interesting incident on Sunday. This took place in the 31st match of the tournament between Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers at the Junction Oval, Melbourne. During the 14th over of the Scorchers’ innings, Xavier Crone was denied his maiden BBL wicket after a bizarre moment for the on-field umpire Bruce Oxenford. The youngster speedster seemed to have claimed the wicket of the opponents’ skipper, Ashton Turner, while the latter tried to pull a short delivery but it looked like the ball went to wicketkeeper Joe Clarke with a slight edge. Following this, Umpire Oxenford was also quick to raise his finger and adjudge the batter out. However, he overturned his decision in a matter of seconds when Turner pointed towards his helmet and the rest of the incident left everyone surprised, including the Melbourne Stars skipper, Glenn Maxwell.
