The Houston Texans had an unbelievable season last year. All of that was behind rookie quarterback CJ Stroud, who looked like he had been playing in the NFL for some time. Fellow rookie wide receiver Tank Dell reveals why that was not a fluke, even suggesting Stroud could be the best.

The 5′ 10″ Tank Dell recently featured in an episode of ‘I Am Athlete‘ by Mobil 1. There he attributed to his success to that of his quarterback. He went on to reveal what makes CJ Stroud that good:

He just brings a special type of swag. I for sure feel like C.J. got the opportunity to be the best quarterback in the league. Not me just saying that because of who he is to me but just like what I’m seeing him do each and every week.

He pointed out that the world is witnessing Stroud’s remarkable abilities as a 21-year-old competing against experienced players and excelling every week. Dell believes his quarterback has everything in him to become the best in the league, even compared to the likes of Patrick Mahomes.

CJ Stroud fell into the lap of the Houston Texans as the 2nd overall pick. Yes, they did scout him much more than No. 1 overall Bryce Young. It seems they knew all along what the Ohio State Buckeyes standout was made off.

Tank Dell has the same view. Stroud’s preparation, film study, the way he practices—all reek of traits that only the best in the league have shown. That constant approach to improvise has brought success and will continue to show out this coming season.

CJ Stroud, Texans and a Super Bowl

Last season showed the NFL world that the Houston Texans are not one of the worst teams in the league—a situation that is common for teams drafting a quarterback that high in the draft and who have a rookie head coach. Instead, they were a couple of pieces short of reaching their first Conference Championship game in their short history.

Now in this off-season, under head coach DeMeco Ryans the Texans have brought in some interesting pieces. Those pieces have been some of the best players in the NFL for some time. But still, they are hungry to succeed. The only way that hunger will be satisfied is if the Texans win the Super Bowl.

That is the goal everyone has on the team. DeMeco Ryans has made it clear that they are focused on that task. If CJ Stroud continues his elite preparations and game, with these new weapons at their disposal, the Houston Texans could establish themselves as one of the best in the league.
