Vancouver Canucks 4-2 victory over Los Angeles Kings became scary with a dangerous head check in the first period of Thursday night. Kings forward Tanner Jeannot leveled Canucks forward Brock Boeser with an illegal hit to the head.
The incident occurred as Boeser chased the puck in the neutral zone and did not see the check coming. Jeannot’s drilled in with a clean shoulder hit into his head causing Boeser to lay flat on ice.
It took a couple of minutes before Brock Boeser collected himself and went to the locker room. He did not return for the rest of the game as he underwent medical examinations.
Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet spoke about the incident saying, “It’s a tough play” to watch. While there was no update on his health, they hope to get positive reports as Boeser walked to the dressing room on his own.

Tanner Jeannot was given a 5-minute major and a game misconduct penalty. According to the recent update from NHL Player Safety, Jeannot will have a hearing with the league for the illegal check to the head on Brock Boeser.

Currently, the team has not given any update on Brock Boeser, but everyone is hoping to hear positive news. Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes said although he didn’t witness the hit, “for the refs to call five minutes” indicated the level of severity.
Fans on social media flooded with comments on Boeser’s well being. Many insisted Tanner Jeannot be given a major punishment and a call from NHL Player Safety. Others argued that it was a clean hit, and that Boeser should have seen it coming.
